A new Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Secretary General of Tourism of the United Nations, Zurab Pololikashvili, and the Executive President of CAF, Sergio Díaz-Granados, focuses on improving the visibility of the Regional Brand of Latin America and the Caribbean, created by CAF with the objective of attracting more investments in tourism, fostering alliances and developing initiatives that boost the growth of the region and help it achieve a more prominent role on the global stage.
Signed at the FITUR international tourism fair in Madrid, the MoU identifies areas of common interest for both parties to work together to achieve shared goals. Going forward, UN Tourism will use and promote the CAF Regional Brand for Latin America and the Caribbean in its communications focused on the region, as well as at its events.
United Nations Secretary-General for Tourism Zurab Pololikashvili welcomed the signing of the agreement: “This agreement marks an important step towards enhancing the visibility of the rich tourism potential of Latin America and the Caribbean. By joining forces with CAF, we can ensure a coordinated and sustainable approach to promoting regional tourism.”
Latin America and the Caribbean is an incredibly diverse region – culturally, geographically and economically. The Regional Brand offers a unique and robust vision of the entire region. And with the support of UN Tourism, it will help us promote and grow the tourism sector, as well as enhance its impact on growth and opportunities.
CAF Executive President Sergio Díaz-Granados added: “Latin America and the Caribbean is an incredibly diverse region – culturally, geographically and economically. The Regional Brand offers a unique and robust vision of the entire region. And with the support of UN Tourism, it will help us promote and grow the tourism sector, as well as enhance its impact on growth and opportunities.”
