Thousands of migratory species find in this country an ideal place to feed and take refuge, making Colombia one of the places with the most migratory routes in the animal kingdom.
Inspired by this, the first tourism promotion campaign was created that turns migratory animals, such as birds, fish, marine mammals and even insects, into guides that tell the world all about the beauty, magic and biodiversity that make Colombia a unique destination.
In order to turn these migratory animals into spokespersons for the country of beauty, a data collection exercise was carried out on three fronts. First, through a database of bird sightings; second, through trackers installed on migratory species; and third, with the collaboration of foundations specialized in collecting this information.
Once this information reaches the database, the arrival of migratory species to the country is recorded and an alert is issued informing about their place of origin and destination. Then, through alliances with online travel agencies (Online Travel Agencies), Colombia sends messages, from the perspective of animals, to people around the world, inviting them to discover what they already know about the country of beauty. Thus, an incredible campaign is born that, in addition to convincing international tourists to visit Colombia, shows that when nature calls, humans also respond.
Through these types of initiatives, Colombia reaffirms its commitment to the conservation of its ecosystems and the promotion of sustainable tourism to protect areas that attract species from around the world and offer tourists authentic experiences in harmony with nature.
