At Europamundo Vacaciones, 2024 has been a year of significant achievements in our commitment to responsible tourism, with initiatives that have generated a real impact on society and the environment. Now, we look towards 2025 with new challenges and the commitment to continue promoting a more inclusive, sustainable and humane tourism model.
Inclusive workshops and transformative experiences
In collaboration with the Oxiria Foundation, we organized activities with people with intellectual disabilities, such as the Christmas decorations workshop, in which our employees actively participated as volunteers. In addition, together with CEAR, we offered panoramic tours of Madrid to refugee families, promoting their cultural integration.
International Gala “BELO, Lights in the Dark”
One of our highlights of the year was the first edition of this gala, which brought together participants from 14 countries on World Mental Health Day to challenge stigmas through art. With the support of the Rotary Foundation and the Europamundo Foundation, the event awarded works that have inspired global change.
Emergency Fund: Responding where it is most needed
At Europamundo, we have channelled aid in humanitarian and climate crisis situations, providing support to LGTBIQA+ refugees in Turkey and responding to emergencies in Gaza, the Philippines, Brazil and Valencia with corporate volunteering and financial donations.
Environmental Commitment: Beyond offsetting
Emissions reduction and offsetting
In 2024, we offset the emissions generated by our corporate travel and the Annual Convention in Marrakech through projects in Panama, Egypt, Cambodia and Zimbabwe. For 2025, we are working on new strategies to further reduce our carbon footprint.
Certifications and recognitions
Our efforts have been recognized with the SDG Corporate Green certification, which reflects a high level of compliance in 16 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and with the Traveling for Happiness 2024 award in the Sustainable Leadership category. This year, our challenge is to continue advancing towards more innovative and responsible practices within the tourism sector.
Looking ahead to 2025: New partnerships and projects underway
A further step in our climate commitment
Within the framework of UN Tourism, we have signed our second Climate Action Plan within the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism, reaffirming our goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. By 2025, we will focus on implementing new measures to reduce the environmental impact of our operations.
Call for social projects 2025
The Europamundo Foundation has launched a new call to finance projects that will begin their execution this year, with the aim of continuing to support vulnerable communities around the world.
Alejandro de la Osa, CEO of Europamundo, highlights:
“The work carried out in 2024 has shown us, once again, that tourism can and should be a tool for positive change. At Europamundo, we have been promoting a model of responsible tourism for years, with a real impact on people and the planet. Now, in 2025, we continue to lead the way with new initiatives that reinforce our commitment and expand our global impact.”
