In January, 206,544 passengers passed through Carrasco International Airport, marking a historic record. January 2025 thus became the month with the highest number of passengers in the history of the country's main air terminal.

This figure far exceeds the previous record set in January 2024, with a total of 201,304 passengers.

The movement generated during the tourist season, as well as the current air connectivity, which includes the recovery of domestic connectivity with Salto and the offer of seats are some of the reasons that explain the growth.

“We are proud of this milestone, which demonstrates the great joint work in recent years by all the actors in the ecosystem, private and public, to consolidate the recovery of the sector. The airline industry is a source of development and its impact spills over into many other sectors, which is why we celebrate this milestone and reaffirm our commitment to continue working to enhance the connectivity of our country,” said Federico Cabrera, Operations and Passenger Experience Manager at Aeropuertos Uruguay.

Throughout this month, Carrasco International Airport connected Uruguay with 15 direct destinations through 12 operating airlines in a total of 162 weekly frequencies.
