Peru reaffirmed its leadership in the global fresh fruit and vegetable market after its outstanding participation in Fruit Logistica 2025, held from February 5 to 7 in Berlin, Germany. The Peruvian delegation, made up of small, medium and large companies, achieved business projections of more than USD 600 million and held more than 800 business meetings with international buyers from countries such as Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece, China, India, Mexico, Argentina, among others.
The country's presence at this event was possible thanks to the joint work between the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) and the Association of Agricultural Producer Guilds of Peru (AGAP), in addition to the support of the Peruvian Embassy in Germany.
"The excellent reception of the Peruvian offer at Fruit Logistica 2025 confirms the positioning of our country as a reliable and competitive supplier of fresh fruits and vegetables. The joint work between the public and private sectors has been key to strengthening our presence in the main markets and opening up new opportunities for Peruvian producers of all sizes,” said Ricardo Limo, executive president of PROMPERÚ.
For his part, Gabriel Amaro, president of AGAP, highlighted that “this edition of Fruit Logistica has been a resounding success for Peru, with the participation of more than 150 small, medium and large producers, agro-exporters and agro-industrialists who have brought the best of our agricultural products to the European market. This result consolidates Peru as a benchmark in agricultural exports and reaffirms the prestige of our products in this important international showcase.”
During the fair, Peruvian representatives identified key trends in the industry, such as the growing interest in fresh products with organic and sustainability certifications, the circular economy, eco-friendly packaging and a lower deforestation footprint. Also highlighted was the increase in demand for the Peruvian offer in all its variety, with special interest in fruits for practical consumption such as grapes, blueberries, bananas, mandarins, avocados and apples.
Business mission in Rotterdam
Within the framework of Fruit Logistica 2025, PROMPERÚ organized a Business Mission to Rotterdam with the support of its Commercial Office in the Netherlands, allowing nine Peruvian SMEs to strengthen their presence in the European market. During this activity, the entrepreneurs participated in a matchmaking with 14 local importers, visited the main port of Rotterdam to learn about the logistics processes, received specialized training from experts in the sector and visited local supermarkets to analyze consumer trends in the Netherlands.
As a result of this mission, participating companies project sales expectations of over USD 8.1 million.
With these achievements, MINCETUR, through PROMPERÚ, and AGAP reaffirm their commitment to maintaining Peru as a key player in global agricultural exports, promoting the excellence and sustainability of its offering through innovative strategies and strategic alliances that benefit companies of all sizes.
