According to a survey conducted by ANATO to its Associated Travel Agencies, to find out how sales performed during the second half of 2024, those that responded to the survey said they had a 10% increase in the sale of their products and services, compared to the same period in 2023. However, they project that for this first half of 2025, their sales could reach a 15% increase compared to the same half of 2024.

In fact, those segments that reported the highest participation were sun and beach, with a 39% share; nature and adventure, with 16%, and cultural with 14%. It is worth noting that these last two have been gaining a lot of strength within the current preferences of travelers.

According to the survey results, 5 out of 6 Travel Agencies are at break-even point or are generating profits, which demonstrates the recovery that our companies have been experiencing over the last few years.

“A striking fact is that the Travel Agencies surveyed stated that approximately 32% of their total sales generated in the second half of 2024 were made for new clients; a result that confirms, on the one hand, the interest that tourists are increasingly showing in seeking advice from a professional for their trips; and on the other, that the diversification of their tourist packages is being a driver for them to be more interested in visiting destinations with them,” explained Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO. During

the second half of 2024, among the destinations that were most marketed are some sun and beach destinations such as Cartagena, Santa Marta and San Andrés. Bogotá and the Coffee Region also stood out.
