Iberia Plus continues to evolve to adapt to new ways of travelling, becoming Club Iberia Plus and incorporating important new features.
From 1 April 2025, Club Iberia Plus customers will earn Elite Points - the points needed to upgrade - for every euro spent, instead of for distance travelled as was the case until now, every time they fly on Iberia Group airlines. In addition, Elite Points will also be earned when purchasing additional products and services, such as seat reservations or priority boarding, among others, as well as with purchases from brands associated with the programme, making it even easier to upgrade. In addition, by purchasing Óptima, Confort or Flexible fares, members will accumulate additional Elite Points per segment, depending on the route and cabin in which they fly.
“We believe that this is a fairer and more transparent way of rewarding our most loyal customers. In addition, including the possibility of accumulating Elite Points with our main airline and non-airline partners undoubtedly strengthens our network and offers our customers more and better benefits,” said Beatriz Guillén, Director of Global Sales and Loyalty.
In addition, to access the Iberia Plus Silver and Gold levels, a smaller number of flights will be required per year, and the possibility of accessing the Platinum level by number of flights will also be incorporated.
The way Avios are earned, the program's currency that customers accumulate when they purchase flights and other services from more than one hundred program partners, remains unchanged, with the calculation also being made per euro spent.
Iberia Plus Platinum Prime
Iberia's loyalty programme will add a new level, Platinum Prime, starting in April. This will offer additional benefits, such as a greater accumulation of Avios, more options to obtain free cabin upgrades and exclusive redemption campaigns.
The Platinum Prime level will be achieved only through euros spent, while Platinum will also add the option of achieving it through the number of flights taken. The latter will be valid for one year.
Both Platinum and Platinum Prime tiers will be equivalent to oneworld Emerald status.
