Volaris Costa Rica, the ultra-low-cost airline, announced new routes between Costa Rica and the cities of Orlando and Miami in the United States and Guadalajara and Tulum, Quintana Roo in Mexico, thus opening up new opportunities for the country to continue attracting tourists.

The new frequencies will begin during the first week of July, in the middle of the mid-year high season, and include a daily flight from Orlando, Florida to the Juan Santamaría International Airport and another flight on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Miami, Florida.

From Mexico, the frequency of flights from Guadalajara, Jalisco will be increased on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. This route began operations on October 29 with flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays and thanks to the interest in it, the frequencies of these will now be increased. On the other hand, Volaris will include the route between Tulum, Quintana Roo and Costa Rica with flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, an attractive destination that connects us again with the Mexican region of the Mayan World, close to a very popular vacation spot such as Cancun.

“We are pleased to announce the increase in Volaris flights from Guadalajara, Mexico, meaning that the route has worked, continues to grow, and we are better positioned as a destination. But the good news does not end there, because Volaris is also starting a flight to Tulum, Quintana Roo from Costa Rica, allowing us to cover a new region in Mexico. “In addition, we have two new routes to the cities of Miami and Orlando in the United States, covering a territory that allows us to attract more tourists to our country, increasing connectivity with the state of Florida and with cities traditionally loved by Costa Ricans and Americans,” said William Rodríguez, Minister of Tourism.

These flights open up new expectations and opportunities for the country to continue attracting tourists, bringing employment and progress to the communities.

“This increase in direct routes to Miami and Orlando in Florida, and to Tulum in Quintana Roo, Mexico, reaffirms the commitment of the national airline Volaris to Costa Rica and allows us to offer our customers the best opportunities to travel in a more accessible, comfortable and safe way to their favorite destinations. We thank Civil Aviation, the Ministry of Tourism and AERIS for their support in increasing our operations to eight direct international routes, with the most affordable fares,” said Ronny Rodríguez, Director of Corporate Development and Sustainability at Volaris.

Last year, 1,621,340 tourists visited us from the United States, our main source market for travelers, and 96,129 travelers did so from Mexico.

Mexico is positioned as our third priority market, surpassed by Canada in second place.
