With the aim of consolidating and expanding the presence of Peruvian agricultural export products in the Saudi market, a trade mission organized by the Peruvian Commission for the Promotion of Exports and Tourism, PROMPERÚ, in close collaboration with the Peruvian Embassy in Riyadh, was successfully held in the Saudi capital from February 8 to 10. This mission, which brought together four prominent Peruvian companies in the agricultural export sector, represented another step in the effort to strengthen Peruvian exports in a strategic market with high growth potential.
The main objective of the trip to Riyadh was to open new marketing channels and strengthen trade relations between Peru and Saudi Arabia, a country with a growing demand for high-quality agricultural products. The participating Peruvian companies, specialized in fresh and frozen products, functional foods and specialty coffees, held productive meetings with more than 30 Saudi importers, and also made strategic visits to two of the country's main supermarket chains.
“These meetings represent an excellent opportunity to strengthen trade ties and explore new distribution channels for Peruvian products in Saudi Arabia,” said Mario Vargas, PROMPERÚ’s economic and commercial advisor in that country.
The business prospects generated during this mission are highly promising. It is projected that, in the next 12 months, trade transactions between both countries may exceed USD 7 million, consolidating Peru as a key supplier of high-quality agricultural products in the Saudi market.
“This result underlines the commitment of Peruvian entrepreneurs to continue expanding their horizons in international markets and diversifying their exports,” concluded Vargas Díaz.
PROMPERÚ promotes the internationalization of Peruvian exports
PROMPERÚ continues to play a fundamental role in the promotion of Peruvian products in international markets, through various internationalization strategies, such as the organization of trade missions, fairs and promotional activities, facilitating the access of Peruvian companies to strategic markets such as Saudi Arabia.
Likewise, entrepreneurs are supported by strengthening their export capacity, training and strategic advice. Thanks to these efforts, Peruvian agricultural products, such as fruits, vegetables, grains and specialty coffees, have gained increasing visibility in markets with high purchasing power and a growing consumption of healthy and quality products.
Commitment to the future
PROMPERÚ, an institution affiliated with MINCETUR, reaffirms its commitment to the internationalization of its agricultural export offering, promoting the development of new business opportunities and consolidating Peru's presence on the global export map.
With this new foray into Saudi Arabia, Peruvian entrepreneurs continue to demonstrate their ability to adapt to the demands of the international market, while PROMPERÚ continues to fulfill its mission of strengthening the competitiveness and visibility of Peruvian products in the most dynamic and fastest-growing markets in the world.
