This cluster, specialized in information and communication technologies (ICT) applied to tourism, represents an innovation model that the Caribbean country seeks to replicate to develop its own technological tourism hub.

The commission is headed by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Jacqueline Mora, accompanied by key representatives of the cluster, including Jaume Monserrat, president of Turistec, and Mercè Masip, its manager, Europa Press reports.

Also participating in the visit are José Antonio Fernández de Alarcón, secretary of the cluster, and Encarna Piñero, president of Inverotel, together with representatives of the Balearic Government.

The Balearic Islands as a benchmark: technological innovation for Dominican tourism

The aim of the visit is to learn first-hand about the technological strategies and tools that have positioned the Balearic Islands as a benchmark in the application of ICT to the tourism sector.

The Dominican delegation seeks to draw inspiration from this model to promote a technological hub that strengthens the competitiveness and sustainability of tourism in its country.

This initiative reflects the Dominican Republic's commitment to modernizing its tourism industry by incorporating innovative solutions that improve the visitor experience and optimize operational processes.

Collaboration with clusters such as Turistec marks an important step towards the digital transformation of the Dominican tourism sector, aligned with global trends.
