Arajet, the Dominican airline, signed an agreement with the company SBR Sports, the official representative of the famous world-class Ironman competition, an international triathlon that will be held on May 4, 2025 in Cap Cana.
The local airline, together with SBR Sports, will bring more than a thousand athletes from 37 countries to the country, with the largest number of participants being Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, the United States, Argentina, and the Dominican Republic, who will be part of the second edition of the Ironman 70.3 Cap Cana, an event that is expected to have more than 12,000 attendees.
This event is recognized as one of the most exciting tests of the international sports calendar, not only boosting the competitiveness and physical condition of the athletes, but also promoting the Dominican Republic as a sports tourism destination. It begins with a 1.9 km (1.2 miles) swim in the Atlantic Ocean. Followed by the cycling competition with 90 km (56 miles) and a 21.1 km (13.1 miles) foot race.
Thanks to this agreement, both entities will develop joint actions aimed at supporting athletes who come to compete in the country, who now have the opportunity to arrive through Arajet's operations hubs in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana.
The airline will also offer athletes facilities such as the inclusion of sports equipment and special discounts. It should be noted that Arajet has been developing this type of agreement in compliance with its extensive social responsibility program, for the benefit of sport since its inception.
The document was signed by Manuel Luna, Chief of Communications and External Affairs Officer of Arajet and Javier Herrera, Executive Director of SBR Sports Dominican Republic, at an event held in the Tres Ojos room at Arajet's headquarters.
In his words, Manuel Luna expressed that Arajet has an unrestricted commitment to strengthening sports in all its areas, both nationally and regionally. "It is an honor for Arajet to support competitions like these, which aim to continue strengthening regional sports and to continue making the Dominican Republic a preferred destination for international sports tourism."
Javier Herrera, for his part, thanked Arajet for the support received as the official airline of Ironman 70.3 Cap Cana, in this second edition, which places the country as a benchmark destination and leader in high-performance sports tourism.
