The Tifloencuentro Panama 2025, an international event aimed at people with visual disabilities, will take place from February 15 to 22 in Panama City. This initiative will bring together more than 64 participants from countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Mexico, the United States, Spain and Germany, and will serve as a platform to promote integration and the exchange of experiences among attendees.

International Impact

During their stay, attendees will be able to participate in various activities designed to promote accessibility, cultural exchange, and exploration of Panama's diversity. The 10-day program will offer participants the opportunity to tour iconic destinations such as Guna Yala and Boquete, with experiences specially tailored to ensure that all attendees can enjoy the experience without limitations.

This type of tourism, which is constantly expanding, is consolidating itself as a driver of economic growth. The Tifloencuentro is expected to generate an economic impact of more than 150 thousand dollars, benefiting the entire value chain of the local tourism industry and encouraging the development of inclusive infrastructures.

Promoting inclusive tourism

The organization of this event is possible thanks to the work of Panama Accessible, an accessible tourism consulting company that together with Q-Tarras tours has organized the Tifloencuentro Panama 2025.

Strategic Collaborations

The Tifloencuentro also highlights the collective effort towards more inclusive tourism in the country, with the support of strategic companies and organizations such as Copa Airlines, the Mayor's Office of Panama, ISAE University and the City of Knowledge Foundation. These allies have joined forces to ensure strengthening with inclusion.

In addition, Panama Accessible has provided training workshops to tourism service providers, ensuring that the service provided to tourists with visual disabilities is of high quality and adapted to their specific needs.

Inclusive Tourism

Studies support the potential of inclusive tourism. According to Open Doors Organization (2018-2019), in the United States, 27 million travelers with disabilities generated a total of 81 million trips, with an economic impact of $58.7 million dollars.

This sector is not only growing, but is also consolidating itself as an important source of income. In Panama, with the completion of the Second National Disability Survey in March of this year, it is expected to obtain more precise data on the number of people with disabilities residing in the country, which will help improve policies and services for this segment.
