The Peruvian Commission for the Promotion of Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) and 'Y Tú Qué Planes' invite you to be part of one of the most emblematic celebrations in the country, where tradition and culture come to life.
Regions such as Amazonas, Ancash, Ayacucho, Arequipa, Apurimac, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huanuco, Huancayo, Junin, Loreto, Madre de Dios, Pasco, Puno, San Martin, Tacna, Ucayali, Tumbes, Piura, among others, hope to receive tourists during this holiday season, which this year will extend until the month of April.
PROMPERÚ invites all Peruvians and foreigners to travel through the various regions of the country and participate in these important festivities. It is a perfect opportunity to enjoy cultural activities and, at the same time, discover the wonderful tourist attractions that Peru offers throughout its entirety.
Through the digital campaign #CarnavaleaPerú, PROMPERÚ seeks to position carnivals as a key attraction for tourism and promote the various activities prepared for this season.
NATIONAL CARNIVAL
Ayacucho Carnival (March 1-5), declared Cultural Heritage of Peru in 2003, is an emblematic celebration that fills the streets of Ayacucho with joy, colors, dances and music, attracting visitors from all over the world.
Tarmeño Carnival, Junín region (February 28 to March 5), a traditional celebration of colonial origin. On the central night, at the 'breaking of the muliza', the neighborhoods compete with new compositions that exalt love, heartbreak and the beauty of Tarma and its people, while the participants dazzle with colorful and elaborate costumes.
Cajamarca Carnival (March 1-5), one of the most important festivities in the region and the country. Its celebrations extend almost a month, from its preparation to the central week, with contests, parades and main events.
