ANATO's Tourism Showcase, the space where more than 50,000 entrepreneurs from the sector meet to establish strategic agreements that boost the tourism offer of Colombia and the world, opened its doors today and will take place until February 28 in Bogotá.
“In 40,000 square meters of exhibition space, 14% more than in 2024, more than 1,500 exhibitors and co-exhibitors from 32 countries and all departments of Colombia will hold meetings to present their service portfolios and thus, jointly, create commercial alliances that contribute to the consolidation of the industry. It is at this event where the tourist packages that travelers will be able to enjoy throughout 2025 are defined,” explained Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.
Among the novelties this year is the participation of Brazil and Santa Marta as guest destinations of honor, which through their delegations will showcase their gastronomic, cultural, historical, nature, sun and beach diversity. It is worth noting that for the first time, China and Andorra will have exhibition space and countries such as Ecuador and Guatemala will resume their participation.
This year, ANATO Capacita Tech version 2 will also be returning to Hall 3. This is a training tool on topics such as marketing and digital transformation, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, trends in tourism, legality and security. This same space will also host the Peace Destinations, the Network of Heritage Towns of Colombia, Sustainable Tourist Destinations and exhibitors of tourist products with a purpose; there will be a tejo activity and an interactive dome of Colombia's National Natural Parks.
On the other hand, ANATO generates growth in tourism and also in the national and international economy:
In the specific case of Colombia, some of the most important impacts are related to the approximately 220 thousand commercial contacts, represented by nearly USD $128 million dollars that would be presented this year in business for the entire Tourism Showcase, which would mean a growth of 6%, when compared to the contacts made in the 2024 version of the event.
It is also an important contribution to job creation, as it is estimated that in 2025, more than 5,600 direct jobs will be generated, that is, 7.6% more than those registered in 2024. “Its implementation creates great demand in sectors such as hotels, restaurants, transportation and other services related to tourism, due to the large number of national and international visitors who travel to Bogotá to participate,” explained Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.
On the other hand, the ANATO Tourism Showcase is also a stage for the promotion of products and services, since more than 1,500 exhibiting and co-exhibiting companies attend to present their portfolios, which will subsequently result in an increase in visitors to different destinations. In addition, the media reach of this event increases the promotion and visibility of these places, in turn encouraging the movement of travelers.
"This space is very attractive for investors, who, upon learning about the offers of different entrepreneurs, find potential and a business opportunity in Colombia, thus generating dynamism in the economy," concluded the union leader.
