The Minister of Tourism, Mr. Pablo Menoni, first of all thanked the President and the Vice President of the Republic for their confidence in his appointment, introduced the directors who will accompany him in the management and greeted the officials of the Ministry of Tourism “we need you, we need you, this Minister and in particular this team are open-doored, with their ears wide open to listen to you, we need you, we need you to carry out our management.”
He then referred to Social Tourism and that “our first major line of action will be to convene the National System of Social Tourism that we have in the Ministry of Tourism and that is mandated by law, calling all public and private actors to a great national dialogue, where the de-seasonalization of tourism is sought.” The leader referred to other challenges such as support for SMEs, “we have close to 30 thousand in the tourism sector, of which 3 thousand are registered in the Ministry of Tourism, because we want to focus support on the generation and care of job positions.”
Menoni referred to the organization's meager budget, which "obliges us, of course, to be as efficient as possible, to focus this effort on attracting demand, and to do so we plan to use tools such as artificial intelligence, among other things," highlighting the articulating and coordinating function with other organizations.
Finally, he stressed that “tourism could be the one that gives the country the growth points that we are waiting for, we believe this because we have achieved it in other administrations.”
The Undersecretary of Tourism, Mag. Ana Claudia Caram, highlighted that “it is possible for men and women from the interior to take on positions of responsibility in the service of our country, if it is possible and worthwhile, we must work so that more young people and more women can have these possibilities.” On the other hand, the official stressed the importance of the tourism sector for the country where “it requires planning, looking at the territory in a holistic way in all its extension and all its diversity, understanding the identity and idiosyncrasy of each local community and building from and with them.”
There he referred to working in strategic alliances with other institutions, coordinating and articulating with the private sector, with entrepreneurs who lead large ventures and with small businesses that sustain activity with enormous effort in every corner of the country. Caram referred to joining forces with academia and working together with universities in the region to strengthen binational ties and support our borders.
She then said that “our work commitment is to seek a better place for future generations, committed to environmental sustainability and respect for diversity and inclusion.” Finally, she acknowledged her mother, all mothers and the thousands of women who work in tourism, in this very special month.
