The Dominican Republic Ministry confirmed that the country is consolidating its position as a world-class sports destination by hosting the second edition of IRONMAN® 70.3® Cap Cana, which will take place on May 4, 2025. This internationally prestigious triathlon will bring together athletes from various countries on a challenging course that highlights the natural beauty and exclusivity of Cap Cana, one of the most impressive enclaves in the Caribbean.

Cap Cana offers the perfect setting for this demanding competition, combining crystal-clear waters, white sand beaches and lush tropical landscapes. Athletes will face a challenge comprised of three disciplines:

Swim: 1.9 km (1.2 miles) in the private waters of Cap Cana, with ideal conditions for high-level competition.

Cycling: 90 km (56 miles) through a route surrounded by tropical gardens and spectacular views.

Foot Race: 21.1 km (13.1 miles) finishing at the iconic Juanillo Beach, offering an unforgettable closing with the Caribbean Sea as a backdrop.

"The Dominican Republic is a place where sport and nature converge in perfect harmony. The IRONMAN® 70.3® Cap Cana not only challenges athletes to push their limits, but also allows them to discover the hospitality, dream beaches and vibrant culture that make this country an incomparable destination in the Caribbean," said Wilber Anderson, CEO of SBR SPORTS, the company organizing the event.

For his part, Minister David Collado highlights the consolidation that the Dominican Republic is achieving as a sports destination, where the IRONMAN® 70.3® Cap Cana event is not only a meeting place for high-level athletes but also promotes tourism in the area. This is how the country is projected as a stage for this type of competition, thanks to the geographic conditions of the Caribbean country.

The IRONMAN® 70.3® Cap Cana not only represents a high-level sporting challenge, but also strengthens the positioning of the Dominican Republic as a privileged destination for sports tourism. With an expectation of more than 2,000 attendees from 37 countries, including Colombia, Mexico, the United States and Costa Rica, the event promises to generate a significant impact on the country's tourism and economic sectors.
