Overnight tourist arrivals continue to increase during the high season

The island experienced a solid 20% increase in arrivals compared to January 2024, with an additional 12,398 visitors. In total, Curaçao welcomed 73,289 visitors during the first month of the year. This result demonstrates continued demand for peak season arrivals, recording more than 70,000 arrivals in a single month.

All regions performed positively in January, especially South America, which saw a significant increase of 46%. North America, the Caribbean, and Europe recorded growth of 25%, 17%, and 6%, respectively. In absolute terms, Europe is the region of origin for the majority of our tourists. Data obtained from Immigration Cards shows that the average daily stay in Curaçao was nine nights in January.

Netherlands: Curaçao welcomed 23,124 visitors from the Netherlands, a 4% increase compared to the 22,170 arrivals in January 2024. The majority of Dutch visitors (58%) opted for non-resort accommodations, while 42% stayed at resorts. On average, Dutch visitors stayed 13 nights during their visit.

United States: The U.S. remains a key market for Curaçao, with a 30% increase in arrivals to 17,708 visitors in January 2025, up from 13,604 in the same month the previous year. The majority of U.S. visitors (66%) preferred resort hotels, while 33% opted for other types of accommodations. On average, U.S. visitors stayed 6.5 nights, with the majority of travelers coming from New York, Florida, New Jersey, Texas, and Georgia.

Canada: The number of visitors from Canada increased by 10% in January 2025, totaling 6,008 arrivals compared to 5,443 in January 2024. Canadian visitors stayed an average of 10.7 nights, with 51% choosing to stay in resort hotels.

Curaçao's tourism industry showed solid stability in the first month of 2025, thanks to a strategic effort to maintain consistency in raising awareness in its key target markets. This growth highlights the island's success in generating demand by showcasing its future "Feel It For Yourself" offerings.

To date, Curaçao has welcomed 73,289 stopover arrivals, 5,151 day-trippers, and 101,826 cruise ship passengers, totaling 180,266 arrivals in January 2025.
