The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA), with the full support of its key partners: Tamarind Hills Resort and Villas, Caribbean Beach Cottages (Hawksbill, Cocos & Keyonna), Royalton Resorts and Elite Island Resorts, proudly confirmed the continuation of Condor Airlines seasonal service at the 59th edition of ITB Berlin, Europe's largest travel trade fair.
Following the resumption of services last year, the destination saw a 26% increase in arrivals from the DACH market in the first two months. The annual growth of German-speaking travelers continues its positive trend, with a 46% increase in January 2025 compared to the same period last year, with a solid volume of advance bookings ahead of Antigua Sailing Week.
Colin C. James, Executive Director of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, emphasized the importance of the collaboration with Condor: “Antigua and Barbuda have a long-standing relationship with German-speaking markets. Condor’s return for a second season is a strong testament to the route’s success, particularly in attracting high-end travelers. Demand from this market continues to drive growth in the luxury sector, in line with our strategy to increase and maintain air travel from Europe.”
Major European tour operators have welcomed the announcement and expressed confidence in promoting Antigua and Barbuda as a top destination for the upcoming winter season. The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority notes that the four- and five-star hotel market is performing the best, with one of the leading volume operators reporting a nearly 300% increase over 2024.
Cherrie Osborne, Director of Tourism for the UK and Europe at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, highlighted the positive response from industry partners, stating: “This year, the industry response has been extremely positive. Thanks to a number of strategic initiatives, including trade visits, media partnerships, and an extensive airline cooperation campaign, we are seeing significant growth in the German-speaking market and across continental Europe. Our hotel partners fully support the diversification of their target market and recognize the potential of this region.”
The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority remains committed to expanding air connectivity and strengthening its position as a sought-after destination for European travelers.
