Peru began its participation in ITB Berlin 2025 with an innovative proposal that highlights the country's cultural richness, according to the Peruvian Export and Tourism Promotion Commission (PROMPERÚ). Sadith Silvano and Guillermina Huarhua are the two artisans who, during the three-day fair, showcased their art and ancestral traditions to the German market.

Within Peru's 300 m² stand, designed to transport visitors to a destination full of authentic experiences, both artisans had a dedicated space to showcase their exceptional work. With a Kené mural typical of the Shipibo Konibo community as a backdrop, Sadith Silvano conveyed the meaning of the geometric designs inspired by nature and the Amazonian worldview.

It was in 2018 that Silvano began creating her own textile products; today, she is a renowned traditional visual artist whose goal is to promote the Shipibo Konibo legacy to open opportunities for new generations of her community. At ITB Berlin 2025, she explained to attendees the techniques and processes of Shipibo manta painting, as well as the raw materials and natural pigments she uses.

Guillermina Huarhua, founder of the Qori Puskay (Golden Spinning Wheel) textile center in Cusco, is responsible for the exhibition and demonstration of the production of Chinchero textiles, from spinning and dyeing to weaving. With over 30 years of experience in this textile art, Huarhua happily shared at the fair the knowledge passed down by her grandmother, which she continues to pass on to her children.

At ITB Berlin 2025, Guillermina presented alongside her daughter Yuliana, seeking to inspire attendees to delve into the world of Peruvian textile art. Over the course of three days, the public was able to enjoy these live demonstrations that provided a close-up look at the richness of Peruvian craftsmanship and its role as a symbol of identity and living culture.

ITB Berlin 2025 was presented as a key opportunity to strengthen the country's presence in the global market and continue positioning it as a must-see destination for travelers from around the world. The presence at this type of event reflects the commitment of MINCETUR, through PROMPERÚ, to promoting inbound tourism, which is key to the Peruvian economy. This tourism benefits both the tourism industry and local communities, fostering more equitable and sustainable development in Peru.
