Norwegian Cruise Line® (NCL), the global cruise innovator with a well-deserved reputation for the best entertainment in the industry, announces the addition of four new original NCL entertainment productions debuting throughout September 2025 on nine ships, including Norwegian Breakaway®, Norwegian Encore®, Norwegian Epic®, Norwegian Escape®, Norwegian Gem®, Norwegian Getaway®, Norwegian Jewel®, Norwegian Joy® and Norwegian Prima®. The new shows, “Red, White, & British,” “Bring Back the 90s,” “ICONS: The Bands” and “Ignite the Night,” were created at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ studios in Tampa, Florida, and feature collaborations with world-renowned artists to provide guests with new, high-quality entertainment offerings that appeal to a multigenerational audience.
NCL's new entertainment strategy, guided by consumer insights and direct guest feedback, focuses on offering guests more of what they love: captivating stories, recognizable music, and visual spectacle. To honor the company's promise to offer guests more to see, more to do, and more to enjoy, the new programming model provides guests with additional access to high-quality entertainment with more productions outside of the main theater. New and original programming will continue to premiere continuously across the fleet.
"NCL has long set the standard for the best entertainment at sea with world-class productions and top-tier talent," said Bryan A. White, vice president of Entertainment Production for Norwegian Cruise Line. "We are thrilled to further enhance our guests' cruise experience by introducing even more exclusive original productions and offering a broader range of entertainment options across our fleet. These innovative shows, only aboard our ships, reflect our commitment to delivering unforgettable and unique experiences that elevate every aspect of our guests' journey with NCL."
QUALITY ENTERTAINMENT ON THE HIGH SEAS
The new British tribute show “Red, White, & British” was developed in collaboration with Burn the Floor, a world-renowned Australian-born team of ballroom champions and longtime NCL partner. This captivating production pays homage to iconic British performers and musical artists who have taken U.S. airwaves by storm. The high-energy show will also feature a “glam rock” segment paying homage to influential rock and roll icons like David Bowie and Queen, along with dynamic video design and striking costumes. To kick off the European summer season, “Red, White, & British” will debut on Norwegian Breakaway®, embarking on March 14, 2025, following the ship’s dry docking with incredible enhancements. The show will premiere on May 14, 2025, on Norwegian Epic®'s Greek Isles cruise, followed by Norwegian Prima®'s Northern Europe voyage on August 24, 2025.
Visionary director Jenn Rapp will bring the production to life. She previously served as associate director of “Jersey Boys” on Norwegian Bliss® and has worked on international shows such as “America's Got Talent” and “The Illusionist.” Joining Rapp is NCL’s talented set designer James Kronzer, who has designed the sets for more than 300 comedies on HBO and Netflix, as well as the upcoming shows onboard Norwegian AquaTM, “Revolution: A Celebration of Prince” and “Elements: The World Expanded.” Additionally, dance champions and longtime NCL partners Peta Roby and Jason Gilkison make up the Burn the Floor creative team, which has brought “Burn the Floor” shows to life over the years onboard Norwegian Breakaway, Getaway, Epic, Jewel and Prima.
NCL will also present “Bring Back the 90s,” another new NCL original created by critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning director and theater artist Scott Weinstein. The show, which debuted during Norwegian Getaway’s sailing on March 2, 2025, will take guests on a nostalgic, “Alice in Wonderland”-inspired journey through iconic moments of the 1990s, including songs from Alanis Morissette, Salt-N-Pepa and Destiny’s Child. As NCL’s first production dedicated entirely to the music of the decade, this high-energy, 50-minute show features dynamic vignettes celebrating memorable 1990s fashion, pop culture, music and trends, blending dance, powerful vocals and multimedia design. In another exciting first for NCL, the production features acclaimed DJ duo The Hood Internet, who have created mashups that bring the era's music to life in new and unexpected ways.
Additionally, guests will relive the magic of the 1990s with choreography by James Alonso White, known for his work on such prolific shows as “Sesame Street” and the “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” with assistance from Nycole Altchiler, who most recently worked on Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short N’ Sweet” tour. Norwegian Getaway® is currently sailing the Caribbean from New Orleans through April, followed by voyages from New York to Bermuda between May and August. The exciting new show will also debut aboard Norwegian Joy® during her July 7, 2025, departure to Alaska from Seattle, her homeport through September 2025.
“NCL has long set the standard for the best entertainment at sea, with world-class productions and top-tier talent. We are thrilled to further enhance our guests' cruise experience by introducing even more exclusive original productions and offering a broader range of entertainment options across our fleet. Onboard Norwegian Encore® during the March 30, 2025, Panama Canal cruise, the immersive concert experience, “ICONS: The Bands,” will debut, bringing to life the hits of legendary bands that shaped generations. The show will enhance the experience with tributes to the soaring harmonies, riffs, and powerful anthems of some of the greatest bands of all time. The production will feature the nine-person cast of the guest-favorite “Choir of Man,” ensuring the high quality and energy expected from the popular group of artists throughout the new production. Director and choreographer will be Stacy Walker, known for her work with artists such as Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga. The production will also premiere onboard Norwegian Escape®, departing May 25, 2025, for the Caribbean from Miami.
Joining NCL’s roster of original productions and collaborations with highly regarded professionals, “Ignite the Night” debuted aboard Norwegian Jewel® during her March 2, 2025, Caribbean voyage from Tampa, Florida. The show, choreographed by “Dancing with the Stars” professional dancer Britt Stewart, combines all the charm of a red carpet event, showcasing an energetic blend of dance, style and design. Guests looking to experience this exciting production aboard Norwegian Jewel can now book their voyage to Bermuda from Boston between April and August 2025. “Ignite the Night” will later debut on Norwegian Gem’s Canada and New England voyages from Quebec, Canada, on September 5, 2025.
MORE SHOWS OUTSIDE THE MAIN THEATRE
With NCL's new entertainment strategy, the brand strives to offer its guests a variety of entertainment that caters to a multigenerational and global audience. To achieve this goal, the NCL entertainment team has created additional programming outside of the main theater, including more cast interactions, an increase in live music at more venues, and even an expansion into youth and family entertainment.
Raising the bar even further, NCL is surprising its guests with spontaneous "Mini Moments of More" entertainment pop-ups across its fleet to maximize the guest experience. Expect the unexpected with flash mob performances poolside, in restaurants, atriums, and more, creating exciting and immersive experiences. These exciting and interactive moments will keep guests on their toes, adding an extra element of fun and energy throughout the voyage. The surprise and delight pop-ups occur daily and are a creative collaboration between artists and the corporate entertainment team to provide NCL guests with an unforgettable moment during their cruise.
