In a strategic move that promises to transform the way travelers plan and book their flights across Latin America, TIJE Travel Tech Group, in partnership with StarNext, officially launched Tije.com. In its initial phase, the platform serves as a B2C digital site, marking the beginning of an ambitious project to offer a comprehensive travel experience. Initially focused on airline ticket sales, the platform represents the first step in a broader digital ecosystem that will eventually integrate additional services such as hotels, transfers, car rentals, and insurance.
The agreement represents a milestone in TIJE's history and brings benefits to Latin American travelers. Thanks to the collaboration with StarNext, a joint venture launched by ISSTA Travel Group and lastminute.com in 2021, tourists in the region can now plan and book their trips with unprecedented ease by leveraging its technological expertise. The customized platform provides access to the best market prices through the company's commercial agreements and allows users to pay in their local currency, eliminating foreign exchange barriers and simplifying the purchasing process.
TIJE.com was created to simplify and improve the flight booking experience, although its vision goes beyond that, explains Sebastián Falus, founder and CEO: “This is just the first step in a constantly evolving digital ecosystem. We want to connect people to the world in a more efficient, personalized, and accessible way. Tije.com is the gateway to a universe of services that we will continue to incorporate in the coming months,” he added during a meeting with the media and industry where the website was relaunched. “We want Tije.com to be the one-stop destination for all travelers.”
The platform, designed with cutting-edge technology, offers users an intuitive interface and streamlined booking processes.
"Our focus is on the customer experience. We want every interaction with Tije.com to be quick, easy, and satisfying," explained Lucas Klenk, director of E2E, the innovation and technology company within the TIJE Group. "The technology we've developed, along with the support of lastminute.com and ISSTA, allows us to offer a service tailored to the specific needs of each traveler."
The international collaboration with StarNext, owned by Issta Group and lastminute.com, is a key component to Tije.com's future success. With over a decade of experience personalizing travel through innovative technology, StarNext CEO Darren Rozowsky said: "This partnership allows us to take the Tije.com experience to the next level. Our mission has always been to simplify and improve the travel experience, and with TIJE, we have found a partner that shares that vision."
While global travel has shifted toward mobile booking, in Latin America it's the only way to quickly access travel content. According to a report by PhocusWire, a website covering technology, tourism, and travel, mobile penetration is projected to reach 74% by 2025, as smartphones are the primary, and often only, device for accessing the internet for many future tourists.
