Guanacaste Airport, a member of the VINCI Airports network, inaugurated on March 18th the expansion of a new area in its boarding halls. The total area of the project is 634 square meters. On the ground floor, access to the boarding halls was redesigned with the expansion of the passenger aisle, the creation of a new 5.1 m² pet area, and a video wall will soon be installed, serving as a dynamic platform for flight information. On the second level, a mezzanine was designed, housing a contemporary walk-through retail store offering a wide variety of commercial options in an attractive and functional environment.
The opening of the mezzanine, thanks to its new layout, will allow for greater passenger flow within the terminal, connecting the airport lobby with the departure lounges and new retail areas. The mezzanine's commercial operations are managed by Morpho Travel Experience, a travel retail company with more than 300 retail spaces in airports, hotels, and attractions in 11 countries. The works represent an investment of $3.3 million USD and the creation of 20 jobs.
“At Morpho Travel Experience, we have always believed that the passenger experience must constantly evolve. That's why we work hand in hand with excellent airport operators, such as Coriport, and with the entire airport ecosystem to create an environment that truly meets the needs of travelers,” said Adriana Echandi, CEO of Morpho Travel Experience. “Over the past year, we have focused our efforts on improving the spaces and services within Guanacaste Airport, a key terminal for Costa Rica's connectivity with the world.”
“As part of this growth, we celebrate the construction of a new slab that will allow for the expansion of commercial spaces, a fundamental step to continue offering options that enrich each passenger's journey. This project not only strengthens the development of the airport, but also allows us to bring more color, flavor, and authenticity to the experience of those who transit through this terminal,” concluded Echandi.
“We have an airport that breaks visitor records year after year, and our goal is always to provide comfort and smooth transit to our passengers, according to their needs and expectations. The mezzanine represents a 10% increase in the terminal's operational area. These improvements highlight the commitment of Guanacaste Airport and VINCI Airports to continuous improvement projects and valuable investments with key business partners.” César Jaramillo, General Manager of Guanacaste Airport
