Beaches Resorts announced today plans to invest nearly $1 billion in the expansion of its leading all-inclusive family vacation brand, doubling its presence over the next five years.
Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Beaches Resorts, unveiled the groundbreaking announcement and ambitious expansion plans at the company's global launch event, Made of Caribbean, in New York City. Mr. Stewart shared the announcement of new Beaches brand destinations, including a new Beaches in Barbados, plans for a Beaches in Exuma, Bahamas, and Beaches Runaway Bay in Jamaica, as well as a sneak peek at the new Treasure Beach Village, now underway at Beaches Turks & Caicos.
Beaches Resorts was founded in 1997, with locations in Jamaica and Turks & Caicos, as the family-friendly evolution of Sandals Resorts. Beaches Negril and Beaches Turks & Caicos introduced a premium all-inclusive experience designed specifically for families. Since then, Beaches has established itself as the ultimate vacation for travelers of all ages, with exclusive inclusions such as the Caribbean Adventure with Sesame Street®, Kids Camps, spectacular water parks, and its innovative program for children with autism, certified by the International Board for Accreditation and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).
“As a family originally from the Caribbean, we have a deep love for our islands, and it’s incredibly rewarding to be inspired by our guests,” said Mr. Stewart. “Our growth strategy is built on fulfilling their desires, with the importance of family time at the heart of our brand’s DNA. We know that now, more than ever, families are prioritizing connection with each other and seeking enriching, multigenerational vacations. We’re committed to not only meeting this demand but also going above and beyond to wow them with new products and provide unforgettable shared experiences.”
Beaches Resorts to debut in Barbados
Beaches Barbados will join its sister resorts Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados and open as the island's first Beaches resort. Projected to open in late 2025, the new resort will offer 600 guest rooms, ranging from suite designs with one king and two queen beds to nearly 3,000-square-foot suites with four bedrooms and a private oceanfront balcony. Designed in the Bajan style, a grand and luxurious interpretation of the Caribbean Georgian style, the resort will be centered around a winding "Center Street," a central hub offering dining and shopping options, as well as vibrant family-friendly areas, from outdoor performance venues to a modern sports bar and game room.
Beaches Resorts sets foot in the Bahamas
Nestled on 500 acres (200 hectares) in the Bahamian Outer Islands, Beaches Exuma will be the brand's first appearance in The Bahamas. The brand is collaborating with the Government of The Bahamas to finalize an agreement for the conversion of the resort, formerly known as Sandals Emerald Bay. The transformation into Beaches Exuma will reconfigure the property's 249 rooms into a variety of accommodations, including multi-bedroom villa suites. While the new resort will feature 12 restaurants, a Kids Camp, a signature water park, a full-service Red Lane® Spa, and the brand's exclusive collaboration with Sesame Street®, the main attraction will be the destination itself, with its celebrated crystalline waters. Guests will also enjoy complimentary green fees at the 18-hole Emerald Bay golf course, designed by Greg Norman.
Beaches Runaway Bay Resort
Located midway between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay on Jamaica's famed North Coast, Beaches Runaway Bay will feature approximately 400 spacious one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom suites and villas, specifically designed for larger families. Guests will enjoy dedicated wellness areas and new activities such as skateboarding, bike trails, a climbable treehouse, and access to the Runaway Bay Golf Club with its 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course, in addition to organic farm-to-table restaurants.
The new Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks & Caicos is now accepting reservations. Beaches Resorts will open a new village, Treasure Beach Village, at Beaches Turks and Caicos, bringing the resort's accommodations to a total of 858 across its next six villages. Designed for families and friends traveling together, Treasure Beach Village will add 101 all-suite accommodations, including spacious four-bedroom beachside villas that sleep up to 10 guests each and overlook the pristine waters of Grace Bay. Treasure Beach Village will debut its first-ever culinary lounge with an international array of culinary options, and will also add Butch's Island Chophouse, a Sandals guest-favorite, to the brand. The resort is now accepting reservations.
All of these additions to the Beaches Resorts portfolio come on the heels of a recent expansion of the brand's flagship resort in Jamaica, Beaches Negril, where the new three-story Firesky Reserve Villas welcome families of up to 10, featuring four bedrooms, beautifully appointed living areas, a private plunge pool, and more, all just steps from the sand. The Eventide Penthouse Collection also welcomes up to 16 guests with access to a rooftop terrace, ideal for stargazing and enjoying the gentle breeze.
