At the 170th meeting of the Federal Tourism Council, Valentín Díaz Gilligan, president of the Buenos Aires City Tourism Board, was reelected as the highest authority of the CFT for the second consecutive year. He will thus lead the CFT until March 2026.

“Being re-elected to lead the CFT is a recognition of the work done over the past year, not only on the council but also in the city of Buenos Aires. The CFT is a key tool for growing together with all the provinces and ensuring the development of each of the country's tourist destinations, from the most renowned cities to emerging towns,” said Díaz Gilligan.

Over the past year, destinations have emphasized implementing technology to promote their destinations; creating incentives for more companies to invest in strategic segments such as MICE and sports tourism; and working together with airlines to improve air connectivity in the country.

Present at the meeting were Daniel Scioli, Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Sports of the Nation; Germán Bakker, National Director of the Federal Tourism Council; Gustavo Hani, President of the Argentine Chamber of Tourism; and the heads of the provincial tourism departments.

Following the ratification by the authorities before INPROTUR and the Argentine Institute of Tourism Quality (ICTA), the Argentine Association of Parks and Attractions was presented during the meeting, and topics such as the presentation of the 5th edition of Best Tourism Villages, the launch of the San Martin National Passport, and the announcement of the National Tourism Forum in San Juan, among others, were discussed.
