Barranquilla Marriott and JW Marriott El Convento Cusco have been recognized in 50 Best Discovery. The prestigious list is part of The World's 50 Best platform, which highlights exceptional destinations around the world. Both hotels have established themselves as hospitality icons in their respective cities, with Barranquilla Marriott being the only hotel in the city on the list and JW Marriott El Convento Cusco a must-visit destination in the historic capital of the Inca Empire.

“Being part of 50 Best Discovery is an honor that reinforces our commitment to offering unforgettable experiences in iconic Latin American destinations. Our hotels in Barranquilla and Cusco embody the essence of each city, providing the highest level of luxury and authentic service,” said Walter Regidor, Regional Vice President of Operations, Central and South America, Marriott International.

Barranquilla Marriott: the essence of the Colombian Caribbean

Located in the vibrant capital of the Atlantic, the Barranquilla Marriott blends the warmth of the local culture with the sophistication and excellence of the brand. Its modern design, inspired by the region's tropical landscapes, along with its exclusive dining options at Amira and Meira Café, have made it a benchmark of luxury and hospitality in the city.

JW Marriott El Convento Cusco: history and luxury in the heart of the Andes

Built in a 16th-century Augustinian convent and featuring Inca and pre-Inca archaeological remains, JW Marriott El Convento Cusco offers a unique immersion in the city's history and culture. Its architecture, cuisine inspired by local ingredients, and exclusive in-room oxygen service position it as a jewel of hospitality in the Peruvian Andes.

"This inclusion also underscores the growing importance of Barranquilla and Cusco as key tourist destinations in Latin America by 2025," Regidor added.

Both cities offer a rich combination of cultural heritage, world-renowned events, and authentic experiences that make them must-see destinations for travelers. Barranquilla is famous for its Carnival, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which attracts thousands of visitors each year. Cusco, the gateway to Machu Picchu, has been recognized as one of South America's top tourist destinations, combining colonial architecture and Inca remains that attract millions of visitors annually.

50 Best Discovery is an extension of The World's 50 Best's renowned annual rankings, offering a broader collection of expert-recommended restaurants, bars, and hotels, ranging from emerging talent to local favorites. To be included, an establishment must receive a significant number of votes from the 50 Best Academy, comprised of global hospitality, food, and bar industry experts.
