WIth the commitment to continue delivering premium experiences to its loyal travelers and members of Star Alliance partner airlines, Avianca, in collaboration with TAP Air Portugal, has officially opened its VIP lounge at Miami International Airport, marking the airline's 11th lounge globally.
“At Avianca, we continue to enhance the travel experience for our passengers. This new VIP lounge is just the beginning: in 2025, we will open two additional lounges launch new routes in Business Class Americas, and introduce renewed experiences in Insignia. With this investment, we are reinforcing our focus on comfort, convenience, and exceptional service, ensuring travelers enjoy an unforgettable experience while traveling through one of our most important markets, like Miami,” said Frederico Pedreira, CEO of Avianca.
The investment in the Miami Lounge emphasizes Avianca's strategy to strengthen its connection to the U.S. market, particularly in Miami, which serves as a strategic hub for travelers heading to Latin America.
“Congratulations to our long-time partners at Avianca and TAP Air Portugal on the grand opening of their new lounge,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “This new premium amenity is another big step in the airport-wide modernization of MIA, which aims at enhancing the travel experience, attracting global visitors, and strengthening Miami’s position as a premier international Gateway."
The lounge is expected to serve over 16,500 passengers in 2025, considering Avianca's 249 weekly frequencies across 36 routes to and from the United States.
"Miami is now home to the first TAP VIP lounge outside of Portugal, and its goal is to bring a little bit of Portugal to life in Miami," said Sofia Lufinha, Customer Service Director at TAP. "Here, with all the comforts of a new business class VIP lounge, our customers can enjoy their favorite meals and drinks, including cheeses and pastries like Portuguese pastéis de nata, Portuguese red wine, vinho verde, and port wine. This is all part of TAP's commitment to providing the most comfortable travel experience for our passengers."
