The vibrant and historic city of Madrid has been a source of inspiration for numerous artistic disciplines over the years, making Madrid's culture one of the richest and most widespread in the world. This diverse and vibrant culture is what INNSiDE by Meliá Madrid Valdebebas, the new hotel of the lifestyle brand INNSiDE by Meliá, seeks to celebrate. It has collaborated with numerous artists who inspire and "bring life" to its facilities. This focus was what inspired the hotel's welcome event, which became a tribute to Madrid. The event was a resounding success, bringing together more than 200 guests, including notable figures such as Gabriel Escarrer, President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, and Borja Carabante, Delegate of the Government Department for Urban Planning, Environment, and Mobility.
The opening event, under the concept "Madrid, my muse," was held last night at the hotel, where attendees were welcomed by a carefully curated atmosphere with decor inspired by the brand's unique and authentic identity. During the opening, various activities took place that highlighted the most popular artistic disciplines that have always been part of Madrid's cultural history: painting, gastronomy, film, and music. Through a carefully designed visual and cultural offering, the hotel celebrated the essence of Madrid, highlighting its unmistakable character and artistic tradition, offering an experience that connects the modernity of its facilities with the soul of the Spanish capital.
Energy, urban planning, and a lot of color
were chosen by Cachetejack as the artists to represent the painting. Their works are prominently featured in various artworks located throughout the hotel. After a brief talk in which they shared their inspiration for their work for INNSiDE Madrid Valdebebas, the artists treated the audience to a live performance of a large canvas in honor of Velázquez's Las Meninas, a historic work that can be seen at the Prado Museum in Madrid.
Music had a very special presence through a DJ set that offered legendary tracks from Madrid's culture of yesterday and today. Film also wanted to be present at this important event, and was present throughout the event through various screenings of iconic film scenes featuring the city and its most charming corners. Finally, gastronomy also had its moment. Guests were able to sample tapas and pinchos that paid homage to typical Madrid cuisine—with options for all tastes.
Among the guests were prominent figures from Meliá Hotels International, such as Gabriel Escarrer, President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International; Álvaro Sans and José Antonio Méndez Moral, architects in charge of the hotel's interior design and layout; and Marco Colomer, President of the Pryconsa group.
The event was also attended by prominent figures from public institutions, such as Borja Carabante, Delegate of the Government Department for Urban Planning, Environment, and Mobility; Luis Martín Izquierdo, Deputy Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Sport of the Community of Madrid; and Almudena Maíllo, Councilor for Tourism at the Madrid City Council, who did not want to miss this very special event.
Gabriel Escarrer, President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, highlighted the creation of this hotel as a unique opportunity to experience the local Madrid scene at the heart of the city's innovation and development: "The opening of this hotel represents a major commitment by the INNSiDE brand to developing its surroundings, locating it in a neighborhood like Valdebebas, which is experiencing rapid growth and is already establishing itself as a "second city" in Madrid. The focus on innovation, culture, and respect for the environment are key values that we at Meliá share with this booming area of our country's capital, undoubtedly contributing to the quality and diversification of tourism in the city."
Marco Colomer, President and CEO of the Pryconsa group, highlighted the enormous challenge posed by the joint development of the more than 64,500 square meters of construction represented by the two joint projects located on this site in Valdebebas. On the one hand, the Innside Meliá Valdebebas hotel, whose inauguration we are celebrating, and on the other, the Sanitas Valdebebas hospital, which is set to open this summer. The Pryconsa group is adding these two new assets to the group's leased property portfolio, which, among its 364,717 m2 of total owned surface area in Spain, Portugal, and Germany, already includes two more hotels leased to Meliá Hotels International.
INNSiDE by Meliá, which defines itself as one of the lifestyle brands in the Meliá Hotels International portfolio, remains true to its philosophy of promoting destinations and highlighting local values and idiosyncrasies with the aim of telling stories from a unique perspective. This is the brand's second hotel in Madrid following the success of INNSiDE by Meliá Madrid Gran Vía. With the choice of Valdebebas, the brand reinforces this commitment by offering its guests the opportunity to discover a developing area where modernity and sustainability are found at every turn. Its strategic location next to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport and just minutes from IFEMA, means the hotel aspires to become the perfect meeting point for both business travelers and independent travelers looking for accommodation that adapts to their needs.
A hotel where art never sleeps.
As guests at the opening witnessed, INNSiDE Madrid Valdebebas boasts a prominent presence of artwork throughout its facilities, once again reaffirming the brand's strong commitment to the local culture of the cities where its hotels are located. In addition to Cachetejack's works, guests can enjoy several hotel interventions featuring paintings and sculptures by artists such as Rubén Sánchez, who have created a unique and authentic identity for the environment, connecting the space with the cultural richness of the local community.
A new urban gastronomic spot for lovers of tranquility and great views.
