The award was presented at the International Fair of Smart Tourism Destinations, held in Bonito, Brazil. Montevideo also received an award in the Accessibility category. The ceremony was attended by Undersecretary Ana Caram, Montevideo Tourism Director Karina Fortete, and Nicolás Raffo, an official from the Tourism Division.
The awards are granted by the Ibero-American Network of Smart Tourism Destinations, which aims to recognize tourism destinations, the private sector, and the third sector, creating new spaces for sharing and recognizing best practices that contribute to the transformation of destinations into smart destinations. The awards also continue to showcase the achievements of public, private, and mixed institutions in the areas linked to the pillars of the DTI model.
