The "Eternal City" is preparing to become the global epicenter of tourism from September 28-30 during the 25th World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit.

This event, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, the Italian National Tourist Board (ENIT), and with the participation of the Municipality of Rome and the Lazio Region, marks the return of the gathering to Europe after six years and will bring together business leaders, government representatives, and international experts at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

The summit will highlight regenerative tourism as a key model, going beyond traditional sustainability to promote the active recovery of ecosystems and communities. Experts will present cases where tourism has driven environmental and cultural regeneration.

The digital transformation track will analyze how AI and big data are revolutionizing the traveler experience and destination management. Technological solutions that improve operational efficiency while reducing environmental impacts will be explored.

In the strategic investment segment, innovative financing opportunities for projects in emerging and established destinations will be discussed. The focus will be on models that combine profitability with positive social impact, connecting investors with tourism entrepreneurs.

Julia Simpson, President and CEO of WTTC, highlighted: "Rome perfectly represents the combination of cultural heritage and modernity that our sector needs. Here we will define the roadmap for a more sustainable and innovative tourism."

Meanwhile, Daniela Santanchè, Italian Minister of Tourism, added: "This summit reinforces our commitment to a tourism that balances economic growth and cultural preservation."

A legacy of global impact

Following in the footsteps of previous editions that featured figures such as Barack Obama, Theresa May, and Ban Ki-moon, the Rome summit promises to bring together the main players in the sector. These include CEOs of global airlines, representatives of international hotel chains, and tourism technology experts, who will analyze the industry's most pressing challenges.

The full program and final speaker list will be announced in June 2025. Interested media can request accreditation through official contacts.
