Meliá Hotels International continues its commitment to growth, through its luxury brands, also in Spanish destinations. It announces the signing of a hotel located on the coast of Estepona, Malaga, that will operate under The Meliá Collection brand. This is the first project on the Costa del Sol in its selection of more special hotels.
The Bahía Estepona hotel, a member of the Meliá Collection, will join the hotel chain's luxury offering on the Andalusian coast in mid-2026, following a renovation that will elevate its standards and facilities, making it an icon of the brand's vacation offering. It will feature 134 rooms and suites perfectly designed for guests to enjoy the ultimate stay by the sea.
Overlooking El Padrón Beach, the outdoor areas of the Bahía Estepona hotel, a member of the Meliá Collection, will take center stage in the guest experience, featuring a stunning pool and ideal garden areas for relaxation. Guests can also focus on well-being thanks to its fully equipped fitness center and a spa offering top-notch treatments. In addition, the hotel will offer a wide range of dining options, including three restaurants, an outdoor pool bar, and a lobby bar.
Located in one of the destination's most charming towns, where you can explore the typical streets of whitewashed houses decorated with flower pots, the Bahía Estepona hotel will be the perfect place to immerse yourself in the essence of Andalusia. As is typical of The Meliá Collection brand, the hotel will feature a curated cultural program that will elevate guests' luxury experience and connect them with the destination. Furthermore, the hotel is located just 20 minutes by car from Puerto Banús, half an hour from the historic center of Marbella, and just over a mile from towns like Mijas and Málaga city.
For Gabriel Escarrer Jaume, President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, “continuing to grow in the best Spanish destinations remains one of our priorities. With the signing of this Meliá Collection hotel on the Costa del Sol, we strengthen our presence in Andalusia, one of our country's favorite destinations, where Meliá's commitment to quality tourism is a solid reality.”
With this new project, Meliá Hotels International now has 30 hotels open or in the process of opening in Andalusia, including two other projects under The Meliá Collection brand in Cádiz and Ronda. In Málaga, the current figure is 16, and the opening of the ME Málaga hotel in the city center at the end of the year is also noteworthy, as is the repositioning of one of its hotels in Marbella, which will become the ME Marbella in the coming months.
