MSC 2024-2025 Season Finale
The activity took place on Thursday, March 27, with the participation of authorities from the tourism and maritime sectors, highlighting the importance of public-private collaboration to improve the passenger experience
Also participating were Yenny Merlo Lechini, Director General of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works; Alejandra Kock, Vice President-designate for the National Port Administration; Karina Fortete, Director of Tourism for Montevideo; Esteban Velázquez, Deputy Prefect of the Port of Punta del Este; and representatives from the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Public Health, and the Municipality of Maldonado.
Tourism Minister Pablo Menoni emphasized the importance of joint work between public and private stakeholders to improve the passenger experience, not only in terms of supply but also in terms of logistics and accessibility.
The authorities were welcomed by Captain Vincenzo Cilento, and the traditional gift presentation and a tour of the cruise ship took place.
MSC Poesia is an innovative cruise ship with an elegant style that combines traditional craftsmanship and creative designs. It was completed in 2008 at the Aker Yards shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, and has a capacity for 2,550 passengers. She is a sister ship to MSC Musica, MSC Orchestra, and MSC Magnifica.
