Santo Domingo – Arajet, the Dominican airline, in collaboration with aircraft manufacturer Boeing, announced the opening of the third edition of its scholarship program for commercial pilot training called "Pilot Cadets."
The airline reported that this program is aimed at young Dominicans who wish to start a career as commercial pilots in the aviation industry, promoting local talent development, strengthening aviation in the Dominican Republic, and positioning the country as the preferred hub for connections in the Caribbean.
Applications for the Pilot Cadet Program scholarships will be open until April 17, 2025. Eligibility criteria and the application process are available through the official website Arajet.com, specifically in the "Work for Arajet" section. Applicants must be Dominican citizens, of legal age, hold a commercial pilot license (ICAO/FAA) with a minimum of 250 flight hours, including multi-engine experience, have a U.S. visa, and possess at least a level 4 English proficiency (ICAO).
During the announcement of the new call, Arajet and Boeing executives highlighted that beneficiaries will receive top-level academic training, allowing them to enter the aviation job market as first officers, with the vision of becoming flight captains.
Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO & Founder of Arajet, stated that this project is part of the airline's commitment to strengthening national aviation by adding Dominican pilots trained to the highest international standards.
