025 – Bogotá, Colombia - March 31, 2025 One of the most important pillars for the economic, social, and cultural development of countries is air connectivity. It is undoubtedly a determining factor in the decision-making of international investors, expands the visibility of destinations, and generates more opportunities for local communities, entrepreneurs, and travelers.

In March 2025, with 6,061 direct weekly frequencies , Colombia's domestic connectivity showed a 9% growth compared to the same month in 2024, through 5 airlines covering 402 routes to 61 cities . In fact, the general trend has shown an increase since 2022.

"This important advance makes Colombia more accessible for both nationals and international visitors, and also confirms its growing position as a prominent hub in the region," explained Paula Cortés Calle, Executive President of ANATO.

It is worth noting that the Andean Region represents the highest concentration of domestic traffic; The Caribbean shows a relatively stable trend with minor fluctuations; the Pacific , although with constant growth, registers being below the previous regions; and the Orinoquía and Amazon regions , they show the lowest rates.

Meanwhile, 1,466 direct weekly frequencies showed a 13% increase in the country's international connectivity , through 29 airlines that operate 105 routes to 30 countries . In this case, North America leads international traffic, with stable values; the Caribbean and Central America show considerable growth, which even exceeds that of North America, denoting that both are consolidating themselves as a key market for tourism, considering that, for four years, the first quarter, they did not have such results; South America, despite presenting fluctuations, has a general upward trend; and finally, Europe has modest growth, but with lower values than American destinations.

"At the national level, we have managed to improve Colombia's connectivity to traditional destinations and those with a tourism focus, which is also a great incentive for travelers to discover the wonders of their home country. Internationally, there has also been great progress in diversifying travel options to more destinations. We are confident that Colombia, with an extensive air network, is opening up to a greater number of opportunities and is closer to addressing the challenges of tourism," the union leader stated.
