The measure, driven by sustained growth in air traffic between Chile and Europe, comes after five years and will allow both the recovery of pre-pandemic operational capacity and offer more connecting options to passengers.
"We are excited about this adjustment, which reaffirms our commitment to Chile and our commitment to offering more options so that the country's passengers can travel with the standard of excellence in service and the experience that our company has offered for more than 90 years," said Aurore Peyrelongue, Country Manager for Air France-KLM in Chile.
More options
On the days when the two daily flights are implemented, one will depart from Paris at 10:15 a.m., arriving in Santiago at 6:40 p.m., while the night flight will maintain its regular departure time of 11:20 p.m., arriving in Chile at 7:45 a.m. the following day. In the opposite direction, flights from Santiago will operate at 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., arriving in the French capital at 5:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., respectively.
In this way, Air France will offer more connection options, with more convenient flight times and even at night, on days when it has two daily flights. This will be especially appreciated by passengers connecting from Paris to various destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Standard of excellence
The additional flights will be operated with Airbus A350-900 aircraft, with capacity for 324 passengers, 34 seats in Business class, 24 in Premium class, and 266 in Economy class. This is the same aircraft currently operating on the route, which is also the most modern in the fleet.
The Airbus A350-900 is a next-generation aircraft that consumes 25% less fuel than its previous-generation counterparts (i.e., 2.5 liters per passenger per 100 kilometers), thanks primarily to the use of 67% lighter materials. It is also 40% quieter.
On board, passengers can enjoy a spacious and quiet cabin; 30% larger windows; an optimized pressurization system that provides a more comfortable onboard climate, with regular air renewal and lighting adapted to the different phases of the flight.
