Sectur celebrates the strengthening of the Mayan Train with the start of its commercialization

The Mexican Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) emphasizes that, as part of the consolidation of the Mayan Train as an emblematic tourist product in our country, marketing of this important infrastructure project will begin on April 1, 2025, on online travel platforms and agencies ( OTAs).

In this vein, Civitatis celebrates that, starting on April 1, it has incorporated tours aboard the Mayan Train into its offerings, becoming the first online platform to do so. It is also one of the leading companies selling guided tours and excursions in Spanish around the world.

The head of Sectur, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, reiterated the importance of continuing to strengthen the tourism sector's production chain, with an emphasis on communities in Campeche, Chiapas, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, and Yucatán, through the promotion of the Mayan Train.

He reiterated the importance of the Mayan Train as a generator of Shared Prosperity and employment in the communities it directly and indirectly benefits, and also provides added value to Mexico and its people with world-class tourism services.

Rodríguez Zamora invited travel agencies interested in promoting this major tourism infrastructure project to contact the agency he heads so that, together with the private sector and the three levels of government, we can continue to make tourism the sector that multiplies good news. "In accordance with the instructions of the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, we will continue working with travel agencies, digital platforms, and applications to incorporate the Mayan Train into their offerings."
