The Peruvian Export and Tourism Promotion Commission (PROMPERÚ) launched the "Experience it in Peru" campaign with the aim of encouraging domestic tourism during 2025, with a special emphasis on Easter holidays and other long weekends.

This initiative seeks to highlight the diversity of tourist experiences the country offers and encourage travel to different regions, which showcase the best of their festivities and traditions during these holidays.

Holy Week: an opportunity to rediscover Peru

Holy Week is one of Peru's most important religious holidays, combining devotion and culture in celebrations that attract thousands of travelers. In this context, "Vívelo en Perú" invites Peruvians to explore fascinating destinations, from iconic processions in Ayacucho to cultural expressions in Cusco, Arequipa, Huancavelica, and many other regions. Through the travel platform www.ytuqueplanes.com, you can plan your next adventure and enjoy cultural, religious, and gastronomic experiences in destinations such as:

Cusco: Celebrate the blessing of the Lord of the Earthquakes and sample the traditional 12-course Good Friday cuisine.

La Libertad (Chepén): home to the second largest Via Crucis representation in America, after the one in Tandil, Argentina.

Junín (Santa Rosa de Ocopa): This year marks the 300th anniversary of the founding of its convent, a key element in the evangelization of the central jungle and in the cultural and educational dissemination of the region.

Ancash: known for its "Waraky," a moving tradition where the faithful await the procession of Jesus of Nazareth, accompanied by Quechua chants sung by representatives of rural communities.

Arequipa: Masses and processions throughout the week culminate with the tasting of typical dishes such as Easter broth and adobo, reinforcing the region's cultural and culinary identity.

Piura (Catacaos): Its Holy Week was declared a National Cultural Heritage in 2018. Visitors can sample the traditional "Siete Potajes" (Seven Pots) and "malarrabia," made with plantain, fresh cheese, rice, beans, and fish stew, a Lent classic.

PROMPERÚ reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting domestic tourism and encouraging Peruvians to live unforgettable experiences in their own country.
