We spoke with Anabel Gruber, the hotel manager, who revealed how each space, service and experience at Yoo2 was designed to convey the spirit of the city with authenticity and cosmopolitan charm.
Rooms with a Rio identity and views
The hotel is part of the portfolio of the renowned British architecture firm YOO, founded by Philippe Starck and John Hitchcox, which has already designed other projects in Rio. The proposal gained a Brazilian touch with the participation of architect Melina Romano, who co-signs the project with YOO.
“At Yoo2 Rio, we believe that accommodation should be an extension of the city,” says Anabel. And this concept is already evident in the accommodations, which range from standard rooms with partial views to suites with stunning panoramic views of Rio. The contemporary design, combined with colors inspired by nature and works by local artists, transforms each space into a true cultural immersion. “We want every detail to tell a story about Rio,” adds the manager.
The strength of a global partnership with a local soul
Joining the Tapestry Collection by Hilton has brought new horizons to Yoo2 without sacrificing its essence. “Our biggest challenge was to maintain everything our guests already loved, while incorporating Hilton’s benefits,” explains Anabel. Now, in addition to the authentic Rio de Janeiro experience, guests can enjoy the prestige and benefits of Hilton Honors and the recognized standards of international hospitality.
The Rooftop is a meeting point between the sky and the sea
Among the hotel’s highlights is The Rooftop Bar, a space that delights not only with its privileged view, but also with its sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere. “It’s more than just a bar. It’s an experience that connects locals and tourists in a vibrant environment,” says Anabel. Live music, signature cocktails and a menu focused on Brazilian ingredients complete the scene, making the rooftop a true showcase of the Rio lifestyle.
Chef Josemar Santos, with vast experience in Brazilian cuisine, is in charge of the kitchen at Cariocally Resto & Bar and The Rooftop, reinforcing the restaurant's concept alongside the Food and Beverage team: local cuisine with a contemporary touch.
Sustainability as a principle, not a trend
Committed to responsible environmental practices, Yoo2 incorporates sustainability into all its decisions. “We are continually evolving,” says Anabel. Initiatives such as the Plastic Free program, energy efficiency, waste management, partnerships with local producers and support for social projects — such as the Refugee Center — reveal a commitment to positive impacts.
Sensory hospitality and genuine connection with Rio
In addition to traditional services, Yoo2 focuses on hospitality that involves, welcomes and inspires. “Our service is highly personalized, we want each guest to experience Rio in a unique way,” he explains. Sensory experiences, immersive design and connection with the local artistic and gastronomic community make the hotel a living portrait of the city.
One hotel, many people — and the same Rio energy
Yoo2 Rio attracts a diverse audience, from international tourists to locals who frequent its bars, events and experiences. “Our hotel is a meeting point between the city and the world,” summarizes Anabel. And, in fact, what you experience at Yoo2 Rio is more than just a stay: it is a dive into the soul of Rio with the elegance and hospitality that only a purpose-built hotel can offer.
