MEXICO CITY — American Airlines announced its 30th destination in Mexico, with the introduction of nonstop service between Puerto Escondido International Airport (PXM) and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). This new service will strengthen the airline's presence in the state of Oaxaca, becoming the only U.S. airline to offer flights to three destinations in the state: Oaxaca (OAX), Huatulco (HUX), and Puerto Escondido (PXM).

“With the announcement of our 30th destination in Mexico, Puerto Escondido, we further strengthen our position as the leading U.S. carrier in the country, with an unparalleled operation and network,” said José A. Freig, Vice President of
International Operations, Contact Centers and Service Recovery. “Puerto Escondido is quickly becoming a popular destination for travelers seeking a relaxing tropical getaway, and we are confident that our new service from Dallas-Fort Worth will offer our customers the opportunity to discover a unique side of Mexico.”

Service is scheduled to begin on December 3, 2025. American will operate year-round flights twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with two-class Embraer 175 aircraft featuring premium cabins and seating for 76 passengers.

This winter, American Airlines will offer a record-breaking schedule in Mexico, with the largest number of flights, seats, and destinations of any U.S. airline. Since 2024, the airline has launched new service to four new destinations: Tijuana (TIJ), Tulum (TQO), Veracruz (VER), and, most recently, Tampico (TAM).
