Montevideo ready to host Cosquín Rock Uruguay 2025

The festival will celebrate its fifth edition on May 23 and 24 at the Rural del Prado, reaffirming its cultural relevance and its contribution to the development of the national music industry

The launch took place on Thursday, April 10, in the lobby of the Ministry of Tourism, and was attended by the Minister (I) of Tourism, Ana Claudia Caram, the Creator of Cosquín Rock and Director of En Vivo Producciones, José Palazzo, the Director of the production company Piano Piano, Camilo Sequeira, accompanied by the General Director of the Secretariat, Florencia Ualde, and the National Director of Tourism, Cristian Pos, in addition to artists and producers.

The Minister (I) of Tourism, Ana Claudia Caram, stated that "tourism and culture always go hand in hand, and require a lot of movement that allows for many opportunities." The official emphasized that artists need this type of promotion, "this is a meeting place for families, where all kinds of experiences can be shared, as well as an excellent opportunity to open doors for development, seeking exchange among the entire society." 


Meanwhile, the Creator of Cosquín Rock and Director of En Vivo Producciones, José Palazzo, referred to the origin and historical evolution of the festival, and stressed that "La Rural del Prado has a symbolism that people from the interior come to the capital, whether for work, tourism or music, Cosquín is a driver of the orange economy, it is a historical musical event, but it is also a cultural event that strengthens the social and that spills economy into the cities that need it so much today."


Finally, Camilo Sequeira, Director of the production company Piano Piano, highlighted the festival's growth in training professionals. "It represents for us the ability to create spaces for diversity, have high-quality stages, and strive to ensure that artists enjoy themselves, because we love our work and seek to constantly grow the Uruguayan music industry." He also emphasized the festival's position on the artist and event agenda. "It fills us with satisfaction to see the people who work hard, it inspires responsibility, and it pushes us to continue evolving," and he acknowledged the work of his production company's entire communications and marketing team. 


The iconic Cosquín Rock Uruguay festival will celebrate its fifth edition on May 23rd and 24th at the Rural del Prado, consolidating its position as one of the country's most prominent musical events. This year, the festival features a lineup of 36 shows featuring both established and emerging artists, offering a diverse lineup for all tastes.

Since its first edition in 2021, Cosquín Rock Uruguay has grown exponentially, becoming a benchmark in the regional music scene. Each year, the festival has expanded its artistic offering, incorporating diverse genres and attracting a wider audience. In 2024, for example, the historic performance of La Mona Jiménez stood out, marking her debut in Uruguay and her first performance outside of Argentina.


The festival has also served as a platform for emerging artists, giving them the opportunity to share the stage with established figures and consolidating their position in the music scene.


Cosquín Rock Uruguay 2025 promises to be an unforgettable experience, reaffirming its commitment to music and culture and strengthening the bonds between artists and audiences in an atmosphere of celebration and diversity.
What's new:


The main surprise of this edition is the return of Abuela Coca, the iconic Uruguayan reggae and rock fusion band, returning to the stage seven years after their farewell in 2018. The Galpón de la Catalina, a space dedicated to exclusive Agarrate Catalina shows, is also on display. And the recent addition of artist Daniela Milagros. Day 2 of VIP Fanatic is sold out.
