The event was held at Turista Róga with the aim of highlighting the importance of religious tourism for the country's development, as one of the main strategies to strengthen its position internationally.
The event was attended by the Regional Director for the Americas, Adrián Lomello, who highlighted Paraguay's incorporation into the Global Network, with the goal of working together to position itself as a key destination in the field of religious tourism. Margarita Ortiz, the national coordinator for the Global Network for Religious Tourism, also participated.
Representing SENATUR was Andrés Ortiz, Director General of Tourism Products, who highlighted the presence of the Regional Director for the Americas, who was on an official visit as part of a tour of the continent. "His visit is very important because it opens up opportunities to develop new tourism products that highlight the spiritual and cultural richness our country offers," he stated.
For his part, Director Lomello presented the benefits for Paraguay as a member of the Network, such as visibility and international positioning. Additionally, Paraguay will have access to important marketing platforms to promote its offerings within a specialized niche of religious tourism.
Cooperation and collaboration with other nations in the network will facilitate the country's integration into international pilgrimage circuits.
Paraguay has been working hard to promote religious tourism with the "Jesuit Way," a multi-destination tour that encompasses historical sites of great spiritual value and highlights the country's religious heritage, cultural richness, and potential as a destination for those seeking a profound experience.
