Chile is having a prominent participation in the World Travel Market Latin America (WTM Latam) 2025, which runs until Wednesday, April 16, in São Paulo, Brazil. With a 220-square-meter stand, the country seeks to consolidate its position as an attractive destination for the Latin American market, especially the Brazilian market.

The Chilean ambassador to Brazil, Sebastián Depolo; consul Juan Carlos Salazar; ProChile director Hugo Corales; and Undersecretary of Tourism Verónica Pardo participated in the inauguration of the national stand at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo.

Undersecretary Pardo stated that “the Brazilian market has become a strategic partner for Chile: in 2024, we will reach historic visitor numbers from that country, and the most notable thing is that more than 60% of those who visit us are between 25 and 44 years old, seeking authentic and transformative experiences. Participating in WTM Latam not only allows us to showcase our diverse destinations but also to strengthen ties with operators and buyers who recognize Chile's powerful offering in nature, culture, and gastronomy. We want more and more Brazilian tourists to discover that Chile is much more than snow: it's adventure, flavors, history, and a connection to the essentials.”

Chile's participation in WTM Latam underscores the country's commitment to developing and promoting its tourism offering in the Latin American market, with Brazil as a key strategic partner.

In this regard, Sernatur's national director, Cristóbal Benítez, explained that "being at WTM Latam 2025 comes amid growing interest among Brazilian tourists in Chile. This is a highly relevant market, especially given the average spending level of over $103 per day, higher than other nationalities, and an average stay of eight nights. This year, our emphasis is on showcasing Chile's diversity, both in terms of destinations and experiences, presenting many more opportunities for the Brazilian market to get to know our country. We are confident that this offer will generate significant benefits for the national tourism industry."

WTM Latam has established itself as the leading B2B event for the travel industry in Latin America, bringing together more than 1,000 exhibitors from over 70 countries and more than 29,000 industry professionals annually. The fair offers excellent business opportunities, access to key buyers, and a space to establish valuable connections.

In addition, the Chilean delegation will take advantage of this year's new features, such as WTMLAT Meet, a meeting scheduling platform; Colleqt QR, for generating business cards and contact information; and the Buyers Club, a space where fair participants can network.

Also within the framework of WTM Latam, the Responsible Travel Awards will be presented, with the national tour operator BirdsChile nominated in the Biodiversity Conservation and Climate Change category. The awards ceremony will take place on April 16.
