The event, which will take place in Buenos Aires and Córdoba on April 22 and 23, has been incorporated into the official program of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), marking a milestone in the promotion of the Caribbean in Latin America.
In this context, we spoke with Elsa Petersen, CEO of EM Marketing & Communication:
What is the Caribbean Caravan about and who is joining you this year?
The Caribbean Caravan is an event created by EM Marketing that ran for five consecutive years from 2015 to 2019, interrupted by the pandemic. We had previously covered five Argentine markets and are now resuming with Caribbean Caravan Reloaded 2025 as the first post-pandemic edition.
This time, we're venturing to Buenos Aires, and tomorrow we'll be in Córdoba. We have the support of two sponsors and the inclusion of our caravan in the official calendar of the Caribbean Tourism Organization. This means they've taken our event as a platform to begin promoting the Caribbean in Latin America, and perhaps expand beyond our borders by hosting more activities.
What has been the public response to this edition?
We are very happy because, in this first post-pandemic edition, we have four countries and a major hotel chain participating. Our platinum sponsor is Cayman Islands, which is sponsoring today's luncheon. We also have the support of the press, such as Travel 2 Latam, and you, who will help us reach other Latin American countries.
The turnout has been excellent; we even had to add chairs to the tables due to the large number of travel agents. Many people arrived early and will stay until the afternoon, dedicating their entire day to the Caribbean Caravan.
Which destinations and companies are participating in this edition?
This year's edition features Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Sandals Resorts, and Turks and Caicos. Five exhibitors with fully booked tables, reflecting the interest and importance of this event in promoting the Caribbean in the region.
We are very proud to organize Caribbean Caravan Reloaded 2025 and to have it included in the official CTO program. This achievement underscores the event's importance as a bridge between Caribbean destinations and the Latin American luxury market. Argentina, with its key cities of Buenos Aires and Córdoba, will be the perfect setting to strengthen these ties and boost tourism in the region. We are also planning future editions in different parts of Latin America, expanding the reach and impact of this initiative.
