Surrounded by mountains and nestled within a dormant volcanic crater, El Valle de Antón offers a unique setting where nature and adventure blend harmoniously. Its landscapes, geological formations, and biodiversity make it a prime destination for those seeking outdoor activities and authentic experiences.

Hiking, Waterfalls, Ziplining and Gastronomy

Located in the province of Coclé, it is distinguished by its unique geography, nestled on the crater of an ancient volcano. This privileged setting has given rise to a wide variety of ecotourism activities that combine adventure, contact with nature, and cultural heritage. Among the most notable are hiking trails, water tours, gastronomic tours, and active tourism experiences, ideal for experiencing the landscape from different perspectives.

Hiking the Caldera Route
The Caldera Route is a circuit of trails that skirt the perimeter of the volcanic crater surrounding El Valle. This set of trails provides access to different ecosystems and panoramic views of the area, each with a particular level of difficulty. Among the best-known are Cara Iguana, La India Dormida, La Silla, and El Gaital. The latter stands out for offering a short hike, approximately four kilometers long, that crosses a tropical rainforest ecosystem and culminates in a viewpoint from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the town, surrounded by mountains.

A Dip in Chorro Las Mozas
, located near Cerro La Cruz, offers an accessible way to enjoy the natural surroundings of the tropical rainforest. The series of waterfalls formed by the Antón River create natural pools that allow for recreation and relaxation. Access to the various waterfalls is via easy trails, making it an ideal spot for observing local flora and for water activities in a safe, undisturbed environment.

Zipline in Chorro Macho
The zipline experience at Canopy Adventure, located in Chorro Macho, combines adrenaline and direct contact with nature. After a hike along a trail surrounded by cloud forest, the aerial circuit begins on one of four platforms suspended among the trees. From there, participants pass through the vegetation and cross a ravine, with privileged views of the Chorro Macho waterfall. This type of activity allows a unique appreciation of the landscape from above, also promoting sustainable tourism in the area.

Bike Tour and Food Stops
The bike tour offers a safe and enjoyable way to explore the city's urban and natural attractions. Electric or conventional bicycles can be rented in the town center, making it easy to get to points of interest such as the Piedra Pintada, a pre-Columbian petroglyph of great archaeological value. Along the way, there are gastronomic stops such as Panadería Cano, famous for its "worm bread" and traditional orejitas (small ears of corn). The area's culinary offerings include local and international options, consolidating El Valle as a complete destination for ecotourism and recreation.
