Expedition Odyssey opens May 1 at SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando has announced the official opening date of Expedition Odyssey, a groundbreaking Arctic adventure, for May 1, 2025. This unprecedented attraction combines cutting-edge technology, stunning lifelike imagery, and up-close encounters with Arctic wildlife to deliver the most immersive Arctic experience ever created.

Combining dynamic motion, cutting-edge visual effects, and lifelike animal encounters, Expedition Odyssey is much more than a ride: it's an adventure that pushes the boundaries between simulation and reality. This thrilling journey will take guests through majestic glaciers, vast tundras, and the icy depths of the Arctic Ocean, encountering some of the planet's most awe-inspiring wildlife along the way.

When the thrill of an attraction meets the real Arctic

The Expedition Odyssey experience utilizes a state-of-the-art system that provides an unprecedented range of motion, bringing fluidity and realism to every turn, dip, and plunge. Exclusive, custom-built footage was captured in remote Arctic locations, providing unparalleled authenticity to guests during encounters with animals such as polar bears, orcas, belugas, seals, walruses, and many more.

Designed to entertain and inspire adventurers of all ages, Expedition Odyssey continues SeaWorld Orlando's tradition of offering thrilling and accessible attractions for the entire family, with a minimum height of just 99 centimeters. From Simulation to Reality: Live Arctic Animal Encounters

At the end of the Expedition Odyssey tour, the immersive adventure continues with real-life, face-to-face encounters with Arctic animals, including belugas, seals, and walruses. Among them is Uki, an orphaned Pacific walrus calf rescued in Alaska, who will make her SeaWorld Orlando debut in her new habitat.

Rescued by the Alaska SeaLife Center and deemed unfit for reintroduction into the wild, Uki arrived at SeaWorld Orlando in September of last year. Since then, animal care specialists have dedicated themselves to her well-being and development. Now, Uki will be able to join the group of walruses in Expedition Odyssey's meticulously designed Arctic habitat, providing guests with a rare and meaningful connection with this extraordinary animal ambassador.

For those who want to get even closer to Arctic animals, SeaWorld offers exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences, such as the Beluga Whales Up-Close Tour, where guests can stand at the water's edge with these incredible marine mammals and learn firsthand about their intelligence, behavior, and conservation.
