Antigua and Barbuda is actively participating in Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, taking place in Japan from April 13 to October 2025, under the global theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives." The Caribbean country's pavilion, located in the Common D section, reflects its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Under the theme "Each striving, all achieving, committed to protecting and saving the environment for all life in Antigua and Barbuda," the pavilion highlights three key areas: environment, socio-cultural, and economics, integrated into the Expo's sub-theme of "Saving Lives."

The Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transport and Investment, Charles Fernández, expressed:

“We are showcasing the best of Antigua and Barbuda in Japan, from our stunning tourism experiences to investment opportunities. Expo 2025 also provides an ideal platform for networking and sharing ideas and culture, raising awareness of our sustainability programs, while celebrating the exceptional talent that defines our twin-island nation.”

Notable initiatives include:

Redonda Restoration Project: An effort led by the Environmental Awareness Group (EAG) to restore biodiversity on Redonda Island.

Coral Reef Restoration Project: A National Parks Authority conservation initiative focused on rehabilitating vital marine ecosystems in Antigua's English Harbour.

'Cool is Clean' Campaign: An award-winning campaign by the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority promoting sustainable recycling practices, featuring the Mr. Cool Pine mascot.

The pavilion offers an interactive experience that includes cultural exhibits crafted from sustainable and recyclable materials, such as jewelry, ceramics, and ironwork. Visitors can also explore national attire, the traditional game of warri, works by local artists, and industrial tools that have shaped the country's culture.

Javier Jacobs, Commissioner General of Antigua and Barbuda at the Expo, noted:

“Visitors should leave the Antigua and Barbuda pavilion feeling inspired by our commitment to sustaining our land and sea, captivated by our rich cultural heritage, and, most importantly, motivated to join us in preserving and celebrating the natural and cultural treasures that make our two-island nation unique.”

Antigua and Barbuda's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai not only strengthens its image as a sustainable tourism destination, but also opens doors to new opportunities for investment and international collaboration, consolidating its position on the global stage.
