With a robust academic agenda and a specialized trade show, the event promises to strengthen innovation, sustainability, and the competitiveness of the country's lodging industry.

Villavicencio, renowned for its natural and cultural heritage, has established itself as the epicenter of event tourism after being chosen as the host of the 4th Annual Convention of the Lodging Sector, organized by Cotelco (the Colombian Hotel and Tourism Association). The event will take place on April 24th and 25th and will feature the participation of more than 700 representatives of the hotel sector from across the country.

The announcement was made by Cotelco's CEO, José Andrés Duarte, during the recent ANATO Tourism Showcase, highlighting Villavicencio's potential as a destination for large-scale events. The city's selection as host city was the result of a vote that placed it ahead of other destinations such as Risaralda and Manizales, demonstrating the collaborative work between the public and private sectors to attract high-impact events.

The convention will feature a packed academic agenda focused on key topics for the future of the hotel industry in Colombia, such as sustainability, digital transformation, new travel trends, and the reactivation of corporate tourism. Additionally, ExpoCotelco will be held, a trade show where more than 100 suppliers will present specialized solutions and services for the industry.

This event not only represents a strategic opportunity for entrepreneurs in the sector to update their knowledge and network, but will also have a significant economic impact on Villavicencio, with expected revenues of up to 3 billion pesos for the region.

Cotelco thus reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the lodging sector in Colombia, promoting spaces that encourage collaboration, training, and the development of new businesses.
