Copa Airlines' growth reinforces Panama's role as a key regional hub, with a network connecting 88 destinations in 32 countries by the end of 2025. The airline plans to carry 18.5 million passengers and operate more than 375 daily flights from the Hub of the Americas®, strengthening the country's position as a gateway to the continent.
This growth translates into an estimated economic impact of more than $1.8 trillion for Panama in 2025, generated by contributions to the treasury, hiring, and payments to local suppliers. In addition, the creation of more than 500 new direct jobs is expected, reaching a total workforce of 8,041 employees in the country. This is in addition to the strengthening of technical training academies, which promote professional development in the airline industry.
In parallel, the Panama Stopover program, developed in conjunction with PROMTUR and the ATP, continues to position the country as a strategic tourist destination. More than 160,000 travelers took advantage of the stopover in 2024, and 185,000 are projected for 2025. This initiative, along with the expansion of routes and fleet, demonstrates how air connectivity contributes to the country's sustainable growth.
