Michoacán, "the Soul of Mexico," is now ready to participate in the 49th edition of the Mexico 2025 Tourist Market, which will take place from April 28 to May 1 at the Baja California Center in Rosarito, Baja California. The state will arrive with a permanent promotional agenda to showcase its cultural, natural, and culinary richness to the world, as well as the traditions that have made it an authentic and unique destination in Mexico.

This event, the most important in the tourism industry in Latin America, will bring together more than 3,200 exhibitors, 1,100 buyers, and representatives from up to 43 countries on five different continents, establishing itself as a first-class showcase for the promotion of Mexican tourism destinations and products nationally and internationally.

Roberto Monroy García, head of the Michoacán Tourism Secretariat, noted that in addition to being a showcase for the best of the Soul of Mexico, "the Tourist Tianguis will be a valuable opportunity to generate new strategic alliances, establish business meetings, and highlight the work of Michoacán tour operators, who day after day design unique experiences for travelers and elevate the state."

Michoacán will stand out with a vibrant representation of its main tourist attractions, including its 10 Magical Towns, 6 World Heritage Sites, its living traditions, and its world-renowned traditional cuisine.

As part of the activities to be held within the framework of this tourist festival, the host state will showcase “Baja California Pairs with Mexico,” an initiative where the states will be present in some of the most important wineries in the region and in which Michoacán will be present with the “Immersion in Michoacán Culture,” a representation of the emblematic Michoacán Night of the Dead Celebration (the state being the only destination that will be present for Baja California tourists and locals for an entire month from April 24 to May 24 at Casa Frida).

As part of its international agenda, the state will also be present at Ventana a México, an event taking place on April 26 and 27 at Liberty Station, Ingram Plaza, in San Diego, California. The official presentation of Michoacán as a destination will take place there, serving travel agents and wholesale tour operators. A special session will also be held on April 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas Del Mar theater, with an estimated attendance of 40 industry professionals.

Likewise, Michoacán will also participate in "El Gran Taco de México," a gastronomic event that will take place on May 1 and 2 at the Tijuana Cultural Center Esplanade, where it will delight the public with its representative tacos from the municipality of Huandacareo.

“Showcasing our riches at the Tourist Market is a priority for Michoacán. We want the world to experience our diverse landscapes, flavors, traditions, and the heart of our people. We are the Soul of Mexico, and we're going to prove it,” said the state's Secretary of Tourism.

One of the key moments during the Tianguis will be the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Michoacán Tourism Secretariat and Viajes El Corte Inglés (VECI), one of the most important agencies in Southern Europe. This collaboration will ensure the international projection of El Alma de México, in addition to providing significant support for maintaining tourism promotion and outreach strategies in the European market, a significant opportunity area for the region's economic and social development.

Additionally, Michoacán is nominated in seven categories for the 2025 Best of Mexico Awards, organized by the magazine México Desconocido. The awards ceremony will be held on April 29 at 12:00 p.m. during the Tianguis (Festival of the Mexican Market). The categories include Michoacán as a finalist in the following categories: Best City for a Destination Wedding (Morelia), State with the Best Typical Dish that Expresses the Essence of Mexican Gastronomy (Carnitas), Best Health and Wellness Experience (Los Azufres), Best Magical Town for Experiencing Our Artisanal Traditions (Santa Clara del Cobre), Best Celebration for Connecting with Our Roots and Customs (K'uínchekua), and Best Experience for Getting Closer to Animal Life (Monarch Butterfly Migration).

With this broad and strategic participation, Michoacán will reaffirm its role as one of the most comprehensive, authentic, and captivating destinations in the country, ready to win over new travelers and continue to position itself as a benchmark for Mexican tourism globally.
