Buenos Aires, April 2025 – Curaçao is preparing to host an international event filled with excitement and nostalgia. This time, the passion for football will bring together world-class legends in the first edition of the Legends - Football Tournament, a championship that will pit historic national teams from six countries against each other: Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Curaçao, the Netherlands, and Portugal.
On May 28 and 29, iconic football figures such as Rivaldo Ferreira, Carlos Valderrama, Sergio Goycochea, Pierre van Hooijdonk, João Pinto, and Clarence Seedorf will once again don their national team uniforms and fill the stadium to compete in matches full of excitement and nostalgia, where renowned Curaçao players such as Eki Oleana will also shine.
Each team will be comprised of eight or more renowned former players who made their mark in the history of football. The game format features two 20-minute halves, with short breaks, ensuring dynamic and exciting matches. The preliminary rounds will be played on Wednesday, May 28, and the grand final will take place on Thursday, May 29, with musical performances, food options, and entertainment for the whole family.
Argentina will be represented by a team of legends who made history and who still stir hearts with their unforgettable plays. On the field, we'll see iconic figures such as Ariel Ortega, the idol with his devilish dribbling; Sergio Goycochea, the penalty-kick hero; and Maxi Rodríguez, scorer of historic goals. Alongside them, names like Rolando Schiavi, Guillermo Pereyra, Leandro Cufré, Leo Rodríguez, and Eduardo Tuzzio complete a squad that promises spectacle, passion, and unforgettable memories.

The matches will be played at Capital, a new venue located across from the Hato Caves on the road to the airport, which will feature a stadium built specifically for the event. In addition to the sporting spectacle, the tournament will be a platform to promote inclusive sports, an initiative promoted by Curaçao Airport Holding (CAH) and the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB).
