Mexico City, April 29, 2025 – RX México, in collaboration with Centro Banamex, reaffirms its commitment to innovation in safety by implementing a new risk prevention model unprecedented in the Mexican exhibition and events industry. Both companies have designed a comprehensive protocol to guarantee the safety of exhibitors, suppliers, and attendees through a rigorous process, which now requires validation of the assembly by a Responsible Site Manager (DRO). This new standard, which goes beyond current regulations, seeks to reduce risks in the installation of exhibitions to zero and ensure that all structures and assemblies comply with the highest safety margins.
“At RX Mexico, we are promoting this initiative that reaffirms our leadership in offering world-class events where innovation and prevention go hand in hand. This new security model implemented with Centro Banamex will surely be a benchmark for the entire industry in Mexico and Latin America,” said Carlos Abreu, Director of Operations for Latin America at RX Mexico.
Key measures of the new protocol
The structural validation protocol is strengthened by the submission of plans and renderings, a structural report, and a DRO report, all reviewed by the facility at least 72 hours in advance. Measures also include continuous supervision by a security guard during lifting maneuvers, mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), mandatory registration of erectors, and credential validation and on-site inspections with firefighters and Civil Protection.
These regulations apply to structures such as screens, platforms, bleachers, double-decker stands, and any rigged elements. Additionally, assemblers must submit their current documentation at least three business days prior to assembly for review and final approval by the RX Mexico Operations Management and Banamex Center.
Investment and commitment to security
To continue these modifications, RX México will conduct the first evacuation drill for exhibition events, launch a new contingency plan, strengthen brigade training in first aid and fires, and implement audiovisual training materials for assemblers, consolidating its prevention strategy.
RX México allocates up to 12% of each event's budget to safety measures, including capacity control, signage, evacuation routes, and emergency protocols. It also coordinates with private security services, healthcare providers, ambulance services, firefighters, and Civil Protection, and trains brigades to ensure safe environments.
